pedalboard rearranged

July 7, 2009

alright, here’s a look at my most recent pedalboard setup.  still trying to get used to the fd2—very tubescreamer-like.  otherwise, the setup sits in a cozy cosmetic box turned pedalboard for ease of travel and protection.

every guitarist has a few pedals that just continue to blow him away. here are mine:

the timmy. $105, price has changed since.
what can i say about this pedal that hasnt been said?  a good adjective to describe it, pure.  no altering of your sound from the guitar to the amp.  what’s great about this pedal is how responsive it is to the nuances of dynamics and pick attack.  it is very amp-like and certainly was worth the 6month wait.  it’s got a ton of gain on tap, too.

the timefactor. $399
i’ve been thru several delay pedals.  initially, the price tag is a turn off but it’s an ‘end-all’ delay pedal.  there’re so many things that this delay can do—havent even skimmed its surface. an advantageous feature about the timefactor is that it has two delay engines that let you do galloping delays to your hearts content.  setting up 1/4 notes and dotted 1/8th notes for your hillsong stuff is a breeze. the timefactor also has a stellar chorus/modulation effect that can be applied to delay trails. you can dial in a short delay time and use the timefactor for just the chorus as well.  it allows for 40presets, if your set calls for that.

what pedals continue to blow you away?
